Riversdale station is the last station on the Alamein line before Camberwell. It is made up of 2 platforms and a manually operated tram/train level crossing. One of only three in Melbourne. When it was part of the Outer Circle line, the station was meant to be named 'Prospect Hill' but was changed to Riversdale when it opened in 1890. Some trains to and from Flinders Street originate at Riversdale in peak hour so they can stable in the yards at Camberwell.
