SSR operates a return container service to Kelso 4 times a week. The train carries a variety of items such as grain, rice & logs that have been trucked from other parts of the state. Where it is transferred into containers at the Grainforce siding in Kelso (Just east of Bathurst) bound for Port Botany. The train runs loaded from Bathurst and empty on the return journey.
The train is made up of the CRL Skeletal wagons BQAY (40 Foot), BQBY (40 Foot) & BQFY (60 Foot). SSR’s Kelso train is made up of a large variety of locomotives, seeing many eclectic lashups of aging locomotives.
