Another ore train that QUBE operates is the Cobar ore train. It ships ore from the far west of NSW into Port Waratah in Newcastle. The motive power on this service varies quite substantially, GLs, MZs, 1100s and 80s have worked this service just to name a few. The train typically consists of 40ft SQDYs and other wagons with butterboxes loaded ontop. Because of the heavy traffic and extreme grades this service goes through, it doesn't really follow a set timetable. But if it does, it usually leaves Port Waratah the evening and arrives back in the day.
