17 Nov 1955 - Delivered
19 Nov 1955 - Load trials between Broadmeadow and Enfield conducted
28 Nov 1955 - Entered service on a demonstration run to Thirroul from Sydney Central
1 Oct 1980 - Following an overhaul, the unit ran the Newcastle Flyer as a trial of noise reduction mods to permit the locomotive to lead trains again. The unit was also repainted into 125th Anniversary Green/Yellow.
8 Feb 1983 - Withdrawn from service after failing twice in two days, it entered preservation after it was allocated to the NSW Rail Transport Museum.
